Imogene was born and raised in Oklahoma. She met her husband, Price, in high school in Blue Oklahoma and married in 1948. They moved to Bridgeport in 1958 with two children, Diana and Gary. Imogene retired in 1987 from Ensearch in Bridgeport where she worked for 19 years. Imogene began painting in 1972 and has become accomplished in working with oil, watercolor and pastel. She has studied with noted artist Rene Hughes, Barbara Westbrook and Doug Prine. Currently she studies under Melanie Singleton. She has earned many awards for her work. She has studied further in workshops with Bennie Wood and the late Steve Grey. Imogene has earned many awards for her work including Best of Show in the North Central College and Wise County Art Association art shows and Peoples' Choice award at the Mineral Wells Art Association art show. Imogene works are in many private and public collections including the permanent art collection of Wise County Courthouse. Imogene is a charter member of the Wise County Art Association, Inc. |
