| Joan was born in Weatherford, Texas but lived most of her life in Tolar, Texas, near Granbury. She retired in 2007 and moved to Decatur the following year to be closer to family. Joan has been interested in and experimented with painting and art in general the majority of her adult life. She had no formal training until 2008. Acrylics, oils and watercolor are her mediums. Joan is also known for her carved and decorated gourds, intricately beaded horseshoes, and beautiful stained glass, geodes and Brazilian agate decor and designs. Joan is an artist of many talents. |
