Robert Smith passed away in 2010. We keep his page here in his rememberance.
Robert has been creating art all of his life. He worked as a commercial artist, illustrator,
humorous Illustrator and cartoonist. Now he is concentrating solely on painting. Basically self
taught, he recently received a formal art education ( later in life than most) at the
University of North Texas.
He paints what he sees, he paints what he thinks, and he paints what he wants to say. With his
art, he connects himself with the world around him. He is inspired by light and shadow as well as
mood and metaphor. He paints the familiar. His art is intensely personal yet it is meant for all to
find meaning. His subjects are from every day modern life. He seeks to express value and beauty
in the commonplace.
